Working within the pandemic restrictions we were still able to accomplish the following Council Activities over the second half of 2020:
Over the summer months we donated from our Charity Bingo funds to Birthright Brampton, Ste. Louise Outreach (Foodbank and clothing), Regeneration Outreach (supporting homeless in downtown Brampton), Bethel Hospice (palliative care) and Wellspring Chinguacousy (support for cancer patients).
Council meetings were held each month from Sept. to Dec. The Sept. meetings were in person with appropriate social distancing and masks in the large St. Mary’s Parish Hall. The rest were virtual meetings with 20 or more members attending.
Over 40 boxes of food and $380 in cash were collected for St. Louise Outreach on the Thanksgiving weekend.
41 winter coats were collected from St. Mary’s Parishioners and Delivered to 3 Parish Schools.
Two van loads of baby items and $1,725 were collected for Birthright on the weekend of Nov. 28/29
The Christmas Lights and Creche were set up at St. Mary’s on Nov. 21st and 28th.
Light Up for Christmas was Live Streamed on St. Mary’s YouTube channel at 7:00 pm on Tuesday Dec. 8, the feast day of St. Mary’s Parish.
