Council #4973 2023 2024 Activities

We are active in the Parish and downtown Brampton community with programs throughout the year.  Our 2023/24 Programs included:

• Sept. 23/24, 2023 "Thanksgiving" Food Drive in support of Ste. Louise Outreach in downtown Brampton.
• Oct. 1, 2023 distributing posters to the attendees of the Life Chain on Main St. in front of St. Mary's Church.
• Oct. 1, 2023 supporting the unborn with distribution of stick-on lapel Roses after all Masses, with proceeds supporting Birthright Brampton and Mississauga/Brampton Right to Life
• Oct. 14, 2023 assisting with hosting approximately 125 men to a "Men of God" brunch and presentation with guest speaker Fr. Eric Mah.
• Oct. 29, 2023 assisting with hosting a Fellowship Sunday weekend in the Parish Hall after all weekend masses. 
• Oct. 28, 2023 to Nov. 14, 2023 conducting the annual Coats for Kids Program, providing coats for needy children in community schools. This year we supported 88 children with coats.
• Nov. 19, 2023 sold "Keep Christ in Christmas" lawn signs and car magnets and used the proceeds to donate a wheelchair through the Canadian Wheelchair Foundation.
• Nov. 25, 2023 setting up the Christmas Lights and Creche at St. Mary’s
• Dec. 8, 2023 hosting the Light Up for Christmas social after the 7:00 pm mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception
• Jan. 12, 2024 removing the Christmas Lights and Creche at St. Mary's
• Feb. 24, 2024 assisting with hosting approximately 160 men to a "Men of God" brunch and presentation with guest speaker Fr. Edwin Gonsalves.
• Feb. 25, 2024 entering a walkathon team in "Coldest Night of the Year" raising funds for Regeneration Outreach in downtown Brampton.
• March 3, 2024 assisting with hosting a Fellowship Sunday weekend in the Parish Hall after all weekend masses. 
• March 2/3, 2024 "Lenten" Food Drive in support of Ste. Louise Outreach in downtown Brampton.
• April 4, 2024 assisting with hosting a reception for Archbishop Francis Leo in the Parish Hall after the 12:30 pm Mass. 
• April 27/28, 2024 distributing plastic baby bottles for Parishoners to collect coin donations for Birthright of Brampton and collecting the bottles on the weekend of June 1/2, 2024.
• May 11/12, 2024 brother Knights personally donated fresh roses and distributed them along with stick-on lapel Roses for Life, with proceeds supporting Sisters of Life
• May 29, 2024 hosting a Parish Movie night showing "Mother Theresa: No Greater Love"
• June 23, 2024 assisting with hosting a farewell reception for Fr. Liborio and Fr. Edgar in the Parish Hall.
