Child being baptized

Do you know the exact date of your Baptism?

Posted : Jan-11-2021

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Today we celebrate the feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Recognizing this reality, I will try to keep my pastor’s corner very short. There is a simple question I would like to ask all of you - do you know when you were baptized?
Our baptismal day is probably the most important day of our human life here on earth. There are many dates we try to remember – often the very first we memorize is our birth day. But other days also take importance in our thoughts and memories such as a marriage, birth of children, etc. But over and above all of these is the Sacramental even of our being Baptized into the Catholic Church. On that day, we were grafted onto the vine, which is Christ the Lord. Through our baptism we are given the title of ‘child of
God’ and are given the gift of eternal life, if we remain faithful to our baptismal promises. So do you know the exact date of your baptism? If you know, then I encourage you to make that day very special (more than you would on your birthday). If you do not yet know when you were baptized, then find out – it’s worth it!
Blessings,
Fr. Liborio

end and we now enter ‘Ordinary Time’.
