A silent Ignatian weekend retreat for women. Although the Passion Narratives of all four Gospels are similar in many ways, there are also significant differences among them. The three Synoptic Gospels agree with each other (since Matthew and Luke are almost certainly based on Mark), while John's account is quite different, especially in matters of chronology. In meeting death, Jesus fulfills his God-given destiny foreshadowed in the Scriptures and inaugurates a new age of history charged with resurrection life. Jesus is the obedient Son of God, tenaciously faithful even in the midst of great suffering. Jesus’ trust in God, tested in the savage fury of death itself, is not in vain. This retreat will pay special attention to Matthew’s account of Jesus’ final days, with special attention to the characters featured in the story. With which characters do I associate / identify in Matthew’s Passion narrative? Facilitated by Fr. Thomas Rosica, CSB. A suggested offering of $245 per person. Includes 2 nights accommodation, meals, program and spiritual direction.
